I am doing really really good for a friday. Thank you for clarifying what beans you used, you just never know.
How close to Windser ONT are you, north of Detroit doesnt leave you alot of the state left. :D
I was thinking we should start a third ZOMBIE ZONE, "THE BAR" whats your thoughts. :)

No prob, I should of added it to begin with, just a habit as we usually only buy navy or pinto beans in the dried state. Hope ya try it, let me know if ya do.

I'm 4 miles north of the 'D' in Madison Heights, lot's of state left north of me including the 'UP'{Upper Peninsula}. Been to Windsor once, right after they opened the casino...$120 and 20 minutes later I was headed back...lol...think I'll stick with my local poker games

"The Bar" sounds awfully tempting LOL

Fried cabbage with bacon & egg noodles.

Cut up a head of cabbage and fry it until it caramelizes with a pound of bacon cut into 1" squares.
Cook with no cover on the pan & only drain the bacon grease off once !!!.
Then boil up some egg noodles mix together and ENJOY !!.

Here's something I shared with Scooper, in his "Found some freshwater clams" Thread in the freshwater fishing forum. I've used this combo for all kinds of seafood, including lobster. Fresh herbs taste best...

They were leaving a trail, so you could tell they were making their way around the sand looking for food.

Anyway, these critters were about as big as my fist.
Are they edible, and safe, and most important, can you make them taste good?

Don't know how clean and safe the water is... If it is clean and safe; and you don't get sick from swallowing a little water while swimming...

2 parts butter
1 part extra virgin olive oil
3, 4, 5, or six cloves of fresh garlic crushed with a fork
oregano, basil, parsely, cilantro, coriander
Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon and 1 lime
1 bottle of your favorite beer
Melt the butter and add the olive oil. Saute the garlic for about a minute or two, just to soften it a little. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a gentle boil. Add the live clams and cover the pot.
Thank the Good Lord for his generosity, and the clams for their sacrifice.
When the last clam shell opens a little, their done... Enjoy!!! Wish I could join ya!!!
