A friend tells me I should only have a trickle/dribble out the pee hole on Johnson/Evinrude motors.I think it should resemble a stream like the one that comes out the hole above and in front of the water intakes on the starboard side when you hook the earmuffs up to it.Any ideas?

You are right. Thr acronym PEE hole is very appropriate. Think about a youngster peeing. Certainly not a dribble!

The pee comes from the cooling circuit. When the water pump (impeller) works properly there will be some pressure in this system and the tell tale shows that. This is affected by pressure regulater and thermostat so the pee might be better when warm. It should, however, never just dribble.
If you have a weak tell tale first check that the pee hole itself is clean and that all connected hoses are OK. If blocked the water will pass it and do the cooling but you won't see the tell tale. If you still have the dribble your impeller should be checked.
