So I have a 1985 75hp 4 cylinder with factory power tilt that came off a pontoon boat. I purchased new cables, as the original ones were to long for my boat. I was able to get the shift cable adjusted with no issues, but the throttle cable, and idle stop are kicking me. The idle stop was loose when I purchased the motor, so I am not sure where it should be set. I think it is to high by a few hundred rpms because the shift grinds a bit going into gear. I did bring the rpms down low enough to shift without it grinding, but with no tach, I have now way to set the idle. The other problem is when I pull up on the high idle lever on the control to start, and put it back down, the linkage on the motor does not bring it self back to the idle stop. It seems to be an issue with the throttle lever on the engine itself not the cable or or control. Also I can't for the live of me figure out how to adjust the throttle cable. I have read the procedure in the manual, but it states the throttle should come back all the way once you put the control in neutral or push down the fast idle lever. I am just not sure where to start. I am getting close to dropping it off at the Marina, and let them figure it out. I have done everything myself to this point, and was hoping to finish it myself.
Thank you
