If you're still reading this, thanks. Just got my JW10 to purr like a fat cat w/ a bowl of milk, thanks, one & all, for the info & insight.

And now the new project:

Buddy of mine just dropped off an old, old, old, old tri hull boat, motor, & trailer (another $50 special)

Here's the crux of the biscuit. It's got a 1961V4AL-13 Super Sea-horse V-75A looks to be unmolested. I know, looks can be deceiving.

Anyone else have any knowledge on this motor? Value? Anything? Thanks for noticing me....

Belt drive distributor, automotive style ignition (needs a battery). Coil needs resistor wire or ballast resistor. 250 dollar distributor cap. 55 dollar rotor. Charging stator not available anymore. $215 voltage regulator. Wiring harness tends to fall apart with age. Manual shift (good). Drinks gas like it's still 30 cents per gallon.
Your JW-10 may have more market value.

ouch..... Besides a uber heavy boat anchor, what could be done with this? any maverick mechanics repurpose the motor into something else, or a lawnmower motor mating to the lower unit?

I can def attest to that! My '67 Johnson 80horse drank fuel shockingly fast. I got rid of it mainly because of the fuel consumption.

Try putting a battery on it and crank it up! Really nothing to lose.
