Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

well i just scrolled through the whole 12 pages and didn't see anything about antique cars and/or car restos. sooooo...........
HIJACK!!!

here's a few pics of my 65 ford falcon futura 2 door sedan with a 200ci 6cyl...

Welcome to the Hijack zone superwooter :D
Cool car, guns, Tats - I haven't had a hot-rod or a classic in a lot of years, I'll try to find some pics, Guns you seen some of my toys in the last 12 pages Tat just 1 USAF eagle

So this is where HVAC been hiding! Hey man, what do you kill with your 45/70? Lost cause was at turners the other day and called me and told me they had a beautiful 1886 in stainless for 450. Im sure thats expensive since this is Cali. The guy told him it was for marlin fishing............ If I had a job I would consider it.

Here I AM, hey thrill how goes it? Hum what do I kill with the 45/70 anything that moves, lots of paper targets? :D::eek: JK actually my shoulder lol I did get a deer with it but I bought it for bear hunting. Before I got the 1895 GS I used to use a borrowed marlin 444. That thin I shot tons of different critters that thing could sure make a mess out of a woodchuck :eek:lol

Hey,

Been out of town and away from computer...

I say, don't scope the black powder rifle.
I don't know about all of the modern rifles out there, but I built a .50 Hawken (T-C) from a kit when I was a teenager.

Regular rifle scope looks stupid on it. I did buy an era correct scope for it. It was just a brass tube about 3/8" diameter that ran the length of the barrel. It constantly collected moisture and could never see through it, unless nice and warm, indoors.

Welcome back home KRH
I decided not to scope it, I took it to the range Sunday and was touching bullets at 100 yds This I think is a case were "Overkill Bill" needs to leave well enough alone, I also feel more at home with iron sights.
I have 1 BP pistol, a derringer got it for a present 20 years ago it was one of those kits. put it together but never fired it for fear of it blowing up. Mabe some day I will get up the courage (bench vise-string:D)
Things are still the same legally around here with BP guns, the only exception is the new hi tech ones that have interchangeable barrels that you can swap out with .308 etc

On another note: I was originally going to head up to the mountains for hunting after my meeting at the navy base in CT.
Then I got thinking about it, it might not be wise to try to enter a US Naval Base with an arsenal of weapons and ammo

I'm thinking that might not be such a good Idea after all

Hey Kev, Look at it this way at least you get to go back to 80 deg weather. Here up north were stuck with it till April. Then there are some of us just a gluten for punishment, I'm going to a meeting in Connecticut this morning, then heading straight upstate to my house for hunting.
Just checked the report its gonna be 9 deg at sunrise tomorrow with a 60mph wind gust advisory, the highest its supposed to get the next few days is 22 mid-day.

And I will be sitting in the woods staying perfectly still Brr......

Yup...cold talk, its definitely WINTER in the good ol' USA!

I just did a couple hours out in the cold...brought my ski bibs and winter coat, long johns, ended up not being windy so the cold wasnt bad and didnt need the bibs/jacket....but it was still nippley out there! Had a 6000 sq ft house to shoot at dusk...should come out nice once I photoshop the heck out of it

Bill will the deer be moving in the wind cold?

Hey Kev safe travels Eh!

Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

It was just bearly out of the teens yesterday ... the hunting was okay (brother got a decent 8 point that I chased to him) ... but the roads were icy. Smashed the left front fender and hood of the Denali when I smashed her into a tree sideways sliding down a bank! Dealing with the insurance company today and back out in the woods for the last day of rifle season tomorrow (should be warmer ... mid to upper 20's).

Well, I ordered a tree stand and it's due for delivery today. Tracking shows that it's out for delivery. Same for my mini-zoom binoculars. Yayy!

All right! My tree stand, fishing equipment stand and new binoculars all arrived this afternoon. Sweet!

These little Carlson 5-15 zoom binoculars are REALLY tiny!

Rock on! I did both of mine last year (or the year before..). All I can say is, graph paper and rented tile saws are your friends!

I bought knee pads for the job, but I ended up not wearing them, they get in the way more than help and the straps cut off circulation.
