Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

Hi BWR, that sounds like you 2 had a real good day :). Even though you couldn't get a photograph, Im sure you and your GF can visualize it when you think back on the day, thats what matters most.

She can't watch a kill shot, don't know if I'd take her hunting don't want to spoil nothing, believe me I'm living it now, my ex wife and I butchered my kills this year ( just like old times lol :D), my present wife won't even look in the freezer:eek: She's a city girl and I pushed to hard, I will leave it at that

A little suggestion, and yes its only a suggestion let her bring up and suggest the going hunting together part.
Other than that man enjoy watching nature and all creation and its has to offer together.

Hijack

Tomorrow morning I go up to Kingston and pick up the new Girl.
In preparation for the 150 mi round trip I did some work on the trailer, just finished tonight, new bearings, lights with wiring, and tires :D. Can't wait to get her home!!!

I'm hoping to get back early enough for some heavy inspecting. I know the outdrive housing and bellow is bad, although the P.O drove it to the marina under its own power.

I am real tempted change the oil, check the plugs wires etc, hook up a 1 1/4" h2o straight to the Hx (heat exchanger lol) and see if I can fire up her 350 :D :D hehehe I feel like Tim the Tool Man, same boat, More Power More Power! Lol

If ya fire her up...Get the muffs out and put her on em, you'll burn up the impeller and water pump in the OD..Or was it that this OD is toast? dammm now I am confused..If the OD is toast, then ya hook her up thru the Hx, thats the Px for curiosity!

Hey Kev, Hope you and the family had a happy new year, Hx, Px think Im gonna post a Billy Bob nomenclature Thread LOL :D:eek: Man that would just mess everyone up lol

Here is a pic of the drive, I have to really take a look at it when I get her home. It looks like well the only way I know how to describe it is intergrandular corrosion ( aircraft days, here I go again lol ) seeing it was a fresh water boat, I have no other reason for the housing degrading.
The port side of the drive is where I really saw damage looks like it corroded right through it. I turned the prop by hand and I really didn't feel any backlash hinting the the gears were fine.

I believe its an Alpha gen I , here on iboats I can get an aftermarket for $1300 or a alpha rebuilt for $2300 to buy just a lower case its $950 which makes absolutely no sense to me, 400 more for a complete upper and lower??
Any thoughts????????

Sounds like a big ol' hint to me! :D

It's a beautiful sunny day here this morning, albeit a bit on the chilly side. I haven't decided whether to go hunting or fishing today. Heh heh. :p

There you go again BWR rubbing it in lol :) I can't help it if I was born on the wrong end of the USA. I did suggest moving to GA to wifey about a year ago, that went over like the Hindenburg :(

Hey Vert,
Yea I made it, the trip home took me 5 hr, 45mph all the way back. She is heavier and much bigger than my other boat. the trailer was struggling with the weight, I thought the tires were gonna blow. It was one heck of a ride, 20-30mph winds no fun. Stupidly I didn't check to make sure everything was batten down, the guy at the marina had said he would have her ready for me and on the crane. At the 38 yard stick on 87 I lost the starboard side vent window from the windshield, that little triangle job. Luckily it didn't hit anyone ( I was in the right lane) But I watched as it bounced point to point and mangled :(

But the Sea Gem is at her new home now, So now the fun can begin, when I start working on her I will start a new thread called The Resurrection of the SeaGem in the rebuild section :D

Glad you made it back safe. I dont think you will be working on it for a while with these temps unless you have one big garage. Now your yard is like mine, from no boats to two boats. I can just hear the neighbors already LOL.

I only wish I had a big garage, I used to but not after the 15th Oh well.
Yep my neighbors really love me lol, so much that they called code enforcement on me cause I had my box truck parked on my front lawn  If people knock on your door thinkin your a junkyard you might be a ...... lol .
Its a good thing the woman that came used to deliver my grandfathers news paper when she was a kid :) (way back when just about the whole block was owned by my moms family). I think the one that called was one of the neighbors that had worked for me that I fired, so it really don't count lol .

Let you in on a little secret, I have my boats, motorcycle, the tool cab from my race car trailer and 4 other vehicles spread across actually 3 yards. If you look at the last pick I posted, you see my boat, then my box truck and trailer in the distance off to the right. The box truck is actually on my parents property, they go from our street to the next :D. Makes my life real easy for getting into the back yard with my toys, I have a double gate on the back street.

I see it this way, gives the people on the block something to talk about :D .

Hey BWR - Didn't get to the boat, spent my time troubleshooting his heating system at the house. He invited me to check it out tomorrow, hopefully I will finish early enough Hehehe. He has a 3406 cat for power, he has had problems with in the past Told him in the future he could just give me a call, I'm very familiar with that Kitty cat :D:D

Hey Vegas- Man I wish I still lived upstate, that's only our summer house now. I actually live in suburbia USA, here on Long Island on a 50 x 200 plot.
I lived up there with my 1st wife for about 2 years just no money to be made up there.

Made right here in WI, kickin machines, everything from 10WDR ( yes , 10 WDR) military machines to concrete trucks to foam blasters for your airport to the snowthrowers . I want one of the H series for tomorrow, supposed to get a bit of snow here in the next day or so. Glad I made a new best friend:D

BTW, doing the films/ demos for these machines was so COOL, errrrr, cold....
