Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome
On a camping trip last year in the mountains my friend did something that I thought was somewhat unique. He walked a couple hundred yards away on the shoreline of an isolated mountain lake and started building what looked like a throne out of flat large stones. When he was all done he stripped, squated on it and took a dump. He then jumped into the lake and went for a swim.
A stone throne! I like the ring of that....!
Hijack: My bud let me borrow his 1948 Ford 8N this Sunday- Got up late after a bonfire the night before ( Saturday night) , drove to his place about 6 miles away and drove the tractor back to my place. Mrs. M was my escort on the back roads home. What a pleasant way to travel, people waving, seeing the houses I never really see because of the speed at which we seem to travel these days. I really enjoyed the ride, and Mrs. M thought I looked good on that machine...

Put the scraper to work on the gravel drive to fix all the potholes. Man that tractor is Fun!! Gonna keep it around for a few days , then fix the cracked welds on the 3 point for my bud.

Then in the evening Dad came out to the shack (my house) and we finished off some ductwork for my downdraft unit. Turned out pretty good for a wood butcher

It needed some tweaking as it had a slight rattle in it- gee, wonder why.....So we tinned up all the seams, added some 1030 duct sealant to remove the chances of rattles and whistles in there. Hooked it up to the 900 CFM exhaust fan on the bench and VOILA! no hums, rattles, whistles, nuthin.. Gotta shoe-horn that baby through the island cabinet , around a foundation wall and into the joist cavity today so we can use the stovetop again, which brings me to my next very own

At the BBQ (see above hijack- no cooktop for 2 days

) for the remainder of the Sunday evening, my little hunter husky disappeared for a spell, I just figured she was chasing squirrels, one of her favorite pastimes.
Well, she came trotting back from the woods, carrying what, from a distance, looked like a woodchuck. Good girl,

Mrs. M started in with the praise. Imagine the surprise when she got closer and let us look at the little red fox male kit she brought us. Awwwww, we like the foxes around here, keep the mice and vermin in check......Had a hard time not yelling at her for taking him out.
And just for fun, my favorite little plinker... Early Stevens 22-410 with a hollow plastic stock, looks like walnut from a distance. Just too much fun. I promise I did not use it on the fox - Got it out cause the coyotes were out late last night again, and the old beagle can not run as fast as she once did..Hijack again! Wow, am I ADD today??
Whew, what a fun Day!
