Hey guys maybe someone can shed light on the demonic hoses that go from the trim pump to the transom. This is a TSK SX-M unit. The old hoses had cracked the metal crimp sleeve and i decided to replace them. I managed to get the old ones off by cutting the steel tube with a fence cutter tool. Removing was easy as i used a deep socket, no problem. The issue is making them tight as i had to remove the inner transom plate and steering cylinder and still i cannot get any tool to fully tighten the hoses. I can get both started and half way but not fully tighten. I used a crows foot, wrench and even flare nut wrench ....still not all the way in. Any ideas before you see me on the news lighting a boat on fire in Miami.

Scott, motor is out being rebuilt, old hoses removed and new installed but i am not able to fully tighten the nuts. I tried a tubing wrench and still access is limited. I got an idea after searching and i will be making a tool out of a deep well impact socket like this one. At least i have not tried this method. I rather fight this now with the motor out than have it leaking after install.

Pull the little manifold on the outboard side of the transom shield, only one bolt. You will need to release the hoses from the clips on the inside of the transom. the bends on the inboard side allow you to pull it clear enough to get an open ended spanner on. BTW they are sealed with 'O' rings, so gorilla force is not needed.
PS. I replaced all my ram hoses a few years ago on a saltwater boat, that is how I know.
