Update...owner called me back and I talked with him.....sort of he has a really bad German accent. Bad news is he doesn't have the title, but has some paper work he is sending me. Sounds like his son got it as a fixer upper project, but never got very far. He even offered to deliver it, said he maybe up in this area in the next few weeks. I guess I will look into the title issue, if I can work that out and he delivers it, why not buy it? Funny thing is I paid $300 for Miss Morgan! Odd coincidence???? He says its a 79....Matt didn't you say the hull was lengthen to 26' in 77?

Yes. 26' starting in 77 so that should be a 26' boat. Good news I guess. Title issues can be a big pain in the ***. The easiest way is to locate the titled owner and get them to file for lost title. Offer them $50 for their time and get the paper work to them. That way it is very little effort on their part. Some states are bill of sale only. What is OK, do you know? AR is bill of sale only. Let me know if I can help. See if you can get him to get you the TX number off the hull. With that you can more than likely locate the titled owner.

I hope it works out. I'd like to see what you can do with it. maybe we can meet up when you pass through Dallas with it. LOL.

I think I got out of the conversation that he got it from California...again he is hard to understand. I figure I will see what he sends me. On Monday I will call the tag people to see what they say. I know you can file for a lost title, I think you have to run an add in the paper and some other hoops to jump through. By the way he said has one "soft spot" in the deck.....he recommended patching that, lol! My thought is the deck and everything else will go in the dumpster!

LOL. I drove to McAlester, OK to look at a CV23 with a "Small soft spot" When I got there half the floor was mud. I decided to pass when I found water in the oil. He was a stand up guy about it though. He pulled the boat from Ft Smith AR to meet me. He was confident I would take the boat once I saw it. I offered to pay for his gas but he wouldn't take my money.

I'm still stunned at how solid the floor is in my boat after sitting out uncovered all those years.

I bet the title can be straightened out. If you can't get any thing out of your Parks and Wildlife let me know. I'll get in touch with my buddy the boat dealer and see if he can help.

Up here it is the Oklahoma Tax Commission....they are pretty much happy if they can get money out of you for whatever, lol....I'm sure its a matter of money and filling out endless paperwork. When I got Miss Morgan the tag hadn't been paid in 10 years... the guy spent 20 minutes adding this and that to the cost, after all was said and done it was around 60$ or so......50 cents for this, $1.35 for that.....I'm sure the paper work cost them more than what I paid!

No there is a title for both, the tag just had to be "brought up to date".

Maybe he figured that out after he got the boat. Doesn't matter much anyhow since he hasn't sent the info. Oh well I will just keep looking and focus on spending as much time in the water with Miss Morgan!

Ya he is nuts. there's a reserve on it to! He's probably trying to recoup his money from the newer motor and drive. Nice looking boat though.

I do think he is nuts but only because his reserve is more than 11K. Starting with that $300 boat I doubt you could equal this condition for 11K. That boat looks to be in great shape. It has a lot of add-ons including the sky lights and a 3 axle trailer.
