And for hose retention, if you don't have a bead making tool, a ring of copper wire soldered around the fitting makes a great hose retention bead

Most use a 1/4 NPT pipe plug and have a 7/16 hex head

Yours is probably one designed to mount vertical to drain. In any case you could cut the hose and install a Tee. They are made to install after the sea water pump for winterization (have one on mine).

Ayuh,.... I built a fittin' like that outa a piece of pipe, drilled, 'n tapped it for a plug, then mounted it just ahead of the P/S cooler in the in-comin' line under the motor,...

Puts it 'bout 6" from the block drain, 10" below the manifold drain, portside,...

Perfect. Thanks for the tips. I'm still thinking about making one as opposed to buying one. I'm pretty sure I can make one that'll last longer than what looks like a plastic part. Bt Doc's fitting is going to outlive the heat death of the universe.

Installed it today with no modification to the hose length.Making the bracket to support it and will have pic for that and the finished install in the boat.
Bracket made from some flat stock 3 1/6 x 1 x 12 uses the orig mounting system and bolts/nuts. Bracket is twisted 90 deg to mate to the 1 1/4 T fitting
and a 1 1/4 pipe clamp.
