Here's more old tech battery testing people could use. Place a wet finger on one terminal and your tongue on the other. If your hair curls.....
So thats how you do it. I could never get my tongue to touch both terminals at the same time. Maybe Mick could.

Hehehe^^^^

OR.....

Get a good beer pee worked up ( about a 6 pack's worth ). Then try your luck at peeing on both battery terminals at once.

If only a slight tingle....battery is dead.

Strong tingle.....battery is meh.

BUT....

If your pubes catch fire and your nuts explode.....Well then the battery is good to go !

ive had good luck out of optima batterys the initial price is about 25%more than a conventinal battery but ive had a red top battery for 8 years and its still doing great no mantinence done to it either ive had it in everything from cadilacks to derby cars and it just always works
i also found a little known option for troling motor batteries the batterys in power wheelchairs are 12 v agm batteries i bought 2 from a guy that his wife was disabled and her insurance paid to have her batteries replaced every 12 months bad or not so he keeps the batteries for me they work awesome on my 70 hp johnson on my pontoon 115 merc on my lund and 25 hp merc on my john boat

I hate to tell you, but you're not buying a battery. You're leasing a battery.

They just about always fail before the end of the warranty--but after the 100% replacement time period. They get you on the pro rata difference that you're charged.

I still get much better use out of a car battery in my boats, and they're cheaper than deep cycle batteries. My last two batteries lasted about 10 years each. Of course, I'm not running a trolling motor off them.

Guys, buy a quality battery for your toon! Which means, don't buy one at Walart!!!

When you are stranded on the water or can't get your boat started the warranty is of little use.

I NEVER have either my toon battey or my wave runner battery on a charger....never. Not even over the winter. I simplely hook it up and start it. That's the way a quality battery behaves web through 30 below winters.

If you find yourself having to use a trickle charger, you don't have a good battery.
