So I posted here a few days ago that I caught the restoration bug, well I found the perfect boat, hesitated, now its gone........sigh :(

I know I said I wanted an aluminum v-hull runabout, i.e. early to mid sixties Starcraft, but this would have fit us perfectly. I waited to talk to the wife to get permission, even though I had authorization to do whatever I deemed necessary, and it's gone. I can't get this jewel out of my head. I am pretty mad at myself for second guessing this one. To make it worse the wife has prodded me a little about not jumping on it......

So here's the one that got away. I am thinking of calling the lady that sold it and asking her to call the person who bought it and see if they just bought it for the motor. I don't want the motor, just the boat and trailer.

This 1961 Invader is 16.00 in length and has OUTBD propulsion. It has a 1973 Johnson motor with 85 horsepower. It needs some work to be brought back to life but is a beauty. Owner has title for both the boat and the engine. MUST GO TODAY!

Look on craigslist for free boats, thats a free boat. all day every day.
Its a total junk gut job.
I like the design though.

Look for free boat listings, be certain they have clear title or walk away( unless the trailer is good). These are all near you, free or very cheap.

Agreed...you missed a money pit. Keep looking for an aluminum boat/hull. There's one on the Amarillo C-list right now...a larger cuddy cabin hull with twin outboards in need of a transom...it's a Dorsett or something like that. Been watching it for weeks...too big for my needs even if I needed another boat.

That stupid dorsset has been on craigslist for about a year. The guy that posts it is either retarted or flunked typing miserabley in High School. It is on every craigslist within a 700 mile radius.
