Yeah JK. Big topic and kinda sorry that I posted strong thoughts. Let me turn it around on you. As I asked above, what benefit to society can you cite for redefining marriage?<br /><br />As far as elaboration . . . I believe that the hardware works one way i.e. makes babies one way. I believe that marriage as it has been defined over the last coupla three thousand years is based on the design of that hardware (no matter who or what desigend it), because it results in children. I think that society should continue to uphold that definition based on the benefits to society of healthy children, let alone the benefits to those children. Again, I am not asserting that healthy happy children cannot be raised in alternatives to traditional heterosexual households, but I believe strongly that it is the preferred method. There are simply things that children get from a loving mother that a father cannot give, and there are things that a loving father can provide to children that a mother cannot. Men and Women are different (another thing I strongly believe) and they both bring unique things to children that cannot be simply compensated for.

Homosexual behavior is not normal, natural or benefitting the propogation of our species...period. Simple example,if you had an island of heterosexuals of men and women the island could survive. If that same island was populated with homosexuals who practiced their "lifestyle",the island would die. Look at our ever rising crime rate and the number of children who are raised outside of a traditional family.....I see a correlation. Furthermore, look at the" breakdown" of the traditional family and look at our ever-rising wellfare roles......this is all costing society.<br />Do you believe that men and women are identical emotionally, intellectualy, spiritualy and behavioraly ? I think there is a difference, and I think that children need BOTH of those influences to become well-rounded adults.On the male side, a well intentioned grandfather, or uncle or such beats a blank, but not the same thing as a loving father....same thing on the female side. With all of that said, if a man chooses to be with another man, or if a women chooses to be with a women, that is their business.I do NOT want them stoned, beaten-up or tortured,I simply do not want them to have the same benefits and rights as those that are carrying out what is in the best interest of mankind.

"QC", I am not liberal on everything just because it is party line...."Z", I take back what I said in the above post with regard to your statement, when I asked you to elaborate, you did. I agree with half of what you said & the other half is your opinion, (which you are certainly entitled to)...JK
