We were out at a ramp on lake superior this last weekend, putting my friend's 30 foot Trojan cruiser into the lake for the first time this year (just got out of repairs late, but that's another story).
Backed it into the lake on its bunk trailer (first time launch from a trailer for us) using a Chevy Tahoe (for a 12,000 lb boat) with white knuckles the whole way waiting for the boat, trailer, and truck to do something unexpected. We get it in, start to back it off the trailer, and realize "Hey! Is the rear plug in?"
Fortunately we realized it before more than about 20 gallons of water got in, which is enough to wash down the bilges in that boat. We pulled the boat out carefully (backing up once to take a run at a bump we couldn't pull over) and got the plug in after the water drained.
The next time we put it in, we found a seacock that leaked, but that's another story
