So you're sitting on the side of the road getting a ticket for doing 70 in a 65 and someone goes by doing 90 and the cop doesn't even look up from his ticket book. How do you feel about that? I'm not attacking you. I just think it's intresting discussion.

You got a ticket for breaking the law. Pay it and be done with it. Rookie cop, disliked cop, whatever. Don't want a ticket, don't break the law.

So he's busy... he'll get to you.

BTW...... 25 years without a ticket, so I have a hard time relating. 8)

You kids are funnnnnnnnnny. Funnier than a cage full of monkeys. 8)

Just to keep things in perspective, Zmoz is correct. The word "nazi" is a generic term used to describe people, place, things of an extreme nature. At least to an individual opinion affected by the circumstances. More than often the term is used in a negative demeanor. Not always the case. Example: We are the party nazi. Hey what can I say. We like to party. 8)

Likewise, Tylenol is a generic term often used in place of medicine. Case and point; a person may ask for a Tylenol but what he/she really asking for is medicine. May it be Aspirin, Advil, Byer or Tylenol. Viagra for allI know. OK strike that.

The funny thing about the English language is new words are being added everyday. Either we keep up or face extinction. Awww the power of evolution. 8)

Party on Pilgrims !

At least you weren't in PG County Maryland. They probably would have shot you.

Custom, I usually take it with many form of controlled substances. See the Club I go to, after a few drinks, everything is beyond my control. I usually wake up with lipstick marks all over me. Even in places.... well I rather not say due to the "family" nature of this forum. Honestly, who keeps track when you're having fun. 8)

R E O Speedwagon, pay the fine and be done. Lesson learned. You know the old saying, "You can't learn anything if you don't make mistakes". Or just think of it as contributing to your local community. Works for me. o:)

i386, I concur. The spirit of the law is typically what is upheld, a less mature or experienced officer is more likely to follow the letter of the law. I think the officer used NO judgement when issueing the ticket, but followed the letter of the law. I am sympathetic to speedwagon, and I would take it to court. I think the situation will mitigate your actions, and you will get the ticket thrown out.

I'm surprised at you Pointer. Even thought the officer may have been able to excercise some discretion once in the courtroom the judge has no option but to uphold the law. Probably been said before, it's no different than running a red light at night when you are the only car on the road. Guilty! Pay the court clerk.

Speedwagon, you got my sympathy. Simple case of a power play. Sounds like Barney Fife got a sex change. I know one of these kind of cops. He likes it when people cower when he is near. What a jerk. Not all cops are good guys.

Custom, when I got married, she understood it was a package deal. The friends, toys and occasional midnight parties stay. Can't make a Rebel into a Nerd. Fast forward, needless to say, she kicked me to the curb after many midnight strolling along the beach whispering sweet nothing into her ear. Nope I don't miss her a bit. Works out for me in the long run. Now I can see whoever I want. Stay out as late as I want with no remorse whatsoever. I'll let her cool off in the mean time. I expect her to call me and apologize in a couple of days. I'll show her who wears the pant in this relationship. 8)

So not to hijack the thread. R E O Speedwagon, pay the fine and be done. Lesson learned. You know the old saying, "You can't learn anything if you don't make mistakes". Or just think of it as contributing to your local community. Works for me.

Hmmmm, I said that already. Didn't I? .....

Someone should tell the Supreme court that, since they seem to have forgotten it at times when it's convienent.
