I give. Where are we headed with this? Looks like it is designed to push things around. I know of couple of thousand HP river boats with pushing attachments on the bow and sophisticated steering-propulsion systems that allow them to navigate sideways, like in digging a barge out of a large mooring, that push 1000's of tons of barges up and down major rivers.
At Isle Royale NP they have a whole fleet of work Boats and some Barges, something like that one would probably be used for dock maintenance . They also have larger Tugs and Barges for transporting fuel, equipment, materials etc across the Lake.
