The rack or assembly that holds the volvo/penta 3862210 ram

This rack is make of porcelain or some sort of porous material. it should have been steel what is it called because I can't find anything on it. This rack is bolted to the transom .

the rack would be the inner transom. Can this be repaired in the boat. Looks like it is made of porcelain. Can an epoxy hold it. I don't no why it cracked while install the rebuilt steering ram.

Ayuh,.... Not sure just what yer talkin' 'bout, but most everything in that area is steel, or aluminum,....

the steering ram is held in the boat off the transom it called the inner transom it is a very porous molded rack with smooth finish. for some reason it cracked and will not hold the piston cylinder in position when steering is used.

Ayuh,.... Got a picture,..?? The P/S unit is bolted to the inner transom plate, as far as I know,....
Usually 2 big but short bolts, one from above, 'n one from below,....

The motor is also bolted to the same plate,....
