Hi All
Here are some pictures of my new toy. 1972 18' Holiday.:D I picked it up two days ago and this is what it looks like after 6 hours of cleaning out the junk and dirt inside.
The 135 mercury runs great, really makes this boat fly.
It needs a lot of work to get it even close to the one's I see on here but I have a long winter ahead of me. Utah winters seem to last for ever.
Ok do I get to join the club

Re: The required pictures

Do I have to have special glasses to see the boat?
If so where can I get them?
Nobody told me I needed special glasses.
Is there a club with special glasses I can join?

Kidding aside I took me a lot of tries before I got a picture up so go ahead and give it another go. Don?t worry no one will tease you.:D

Re: The required pictures

So I found my reading glasses, after looking all over the house.
Of course they were on top of my head but I can now see the pictures.
I guess I didn?t need any special glasses, as these seem to work.

Nice find and welcome to the club.
I will send a cheque to the powers that be for your lifetime membership.
No thanks necessary as I have lots of funny money.

My buddy has the same boat with a 90hp on it and that thing flies.
Yours will need reinforced seats so you don?t land on the stern on take off.
She looks in great shape. I think you have excellent base to make a boat that can serve your needs and keep you out of the poor house.

I guess your in on the tinny side of the club. The more exclusive side would be the glassers, there are a few of us.
No matter the side, welcome to the sickness.

By the way, the tank straps are great....

Looks like a fun project.. Best to you, Summer will be here and then it all pays off.

Thanks for the welcome, if you like those tank straps you should have seen some of the other hillbilly rigging's this think had/has. Like two pieces of chain with a piece of rope in the middle to hold the rear end down on the trailer.

Well shuck my ears and call me corney. Welcome L&L ! My SS was the same beautiful color. I must ask since you said it flies...how fast? You see I have a Merc 135hp I was thinking about putting on mine and I am very curious. My problem is my boat is rated for 120hp:confused:
For the record I am a proud redneck hillbilly and stuff may not look purty, but it works, LOL;)

Welcome to the club Lock, you are amongst friends;)

Love the avocado green, oh the fantastic 70s:D (best 2.5 years of my life)

The rig looks like it could use a refreshening, but all the important parts are there, so you are on your way.

Let us know what's puzzling you and we will try to find somebody who knows the answer around here:D

Nice Boat I have a 22 1975 Holiday with a 200 Johnson on the back. I removecd the rear seat to get closer to the stern, and for walking around space. I put it in if company shows up. It is all origional so all the parts are there. You will enjoy a Great Boat.

Dale, those figures you are quoting are in Canadian horsepower...convert to American and it should be 140 based on the current exchange rate:p

It's the same principle that requires Labatt bottles to contain 11.5oz rather than the full 12oz that we happily gulp here in the states.;)

(sorry, should've told you that sooner)

Re: The required pictures

Fshngho, by a hand held GPS it was hitting 49mph. As lite as the boat is it really was kind of scarey. Sure don't want to turn to fast.

heck no.
Our beer is stronger.
Our miles are longer.
Our girls are nicer.
Our fish are bigger.
Our boats are better.
