I need to know the best prop for a 1982 70hp Evinrude. It's pushing a 1973 16ft Center console that is very light. The stainless prop I have is pitted and has one bent blade. Thanks for the help!

Now theres a loaded question!

The best one is the one that puts you in the right rpm range for your intended use. Lets start with what you have been running and the top rpm with an average load.

Post the top rpm and accurate speed and we'll calculate the slip % and go from there.

Re: The right Prop needed

I just bought the boat and repowered it with the outboard. So, I do not know the RPM. I will have it in the water this weekend but with the blade being bent I do not think I will get very good performance. Thanks for the replies, I will try the FAQ as well.

Just guessing and without knowing your set up, I'd probably start with a 19. Then test to establish a baseline and go from there.
