What I'm getting at, is when you look at the flywheel on the starboard side, you will see the timer base which is hooked up to the throttle linkage. Have someone move the throttle lever SLOWLY at the control while you watch the timer base to make sure it moves smoothly and totally to it's full adavance stop. Just making sure it's not getting hung up here and there and creating a problem. Another thing to eliminate in the search for the problem....Sounds like you have looked into this, but just making sure it's not hanging up...Doubt the SLOW is the problem. Limits you to 2500 RPM's...

EDIT: Timer base is at full advance at about 1/3-1/2 throttle. Huuummmm...Sure about that??

Sounds exactly the same problem I was having with my power pack. A fifteen minute replacement made it purr like a kitten :)
