That logic. . .all Muslims must be guilty because they don't protest the evil acts of a few (very few). . . is downright scary.

I suppose that would make all Germans guilty of the Holocaust, all Christians guilty of the genocide of Native Americans, all Southerners guilty of the lynchings, etc carried out by the KKK and so on, ad infinitum.

Very flawed logic. Just plain wrong, in my opinion.

Not as you state it, JB. Not guilty of the crime but guilty of supporting it if you do not vocally condemn it. If one doesn't speak out it is a fair assumption ( yes, I know) that one supports it. The Muslim community has been conspicuously silent on everything except protesting the Pope or cartoons. Nothing about suicide bombers even killing fellow muslims.
I just don't get it! They are cultivating the mistrust people have in the Religion of Peace.

Again........so what happens if they do speak up? If the Germans spoke up to the Nazi's you think Hitler would just be like " Oh yeah you guys are right. We shouldn't be persecuting the Jewish people" I highly doubt it. They would just be "silenced". Same thing with the other examples JB mentioned.

Your logic doesn't fly. I don't hear much coming from Muslim leaders in countries where they can speak up without their heads being chopped off. They don't condemn so they at the least condone.
This is great. You've gone from "MUSLIMS" which could mean all muslims to "Muslim leaders in countries where they can speak up without their heads being chopped off". In my opinion that's signifcant progress. Keep going you'll figure this out in a little bit.

I won't do all your research for you, but here's a good example:
Reaction to terrorist outrages in the USA (11th Sep, 2001)
OFFICAL STATEMENT FROM RIYADH
Riyadh, 11th September 2001

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned “the inhuman bombings and attacks” which took place today at the two-tower World Trade Centre in Manhattan, New York, and at the Pentagon, Washington D. C., the United States.

An official source said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns such acts which contravene all religious values and concepts of civilized human behaviour and extends sincere condolences to the families of the victims, US President George W. Bush and the US people in general.

The source emphasized the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's condemnation of terrorism and its constant work with the international community to combat all forms of terrorism.

STATEMENT BY THE SAUDI ARABIAN AMBASSADOR IN WASHINGTON
...
As we grieve with you, Saudi Arabia would like every American to know that we condemn these terrorist attacks and seek to bring those responsible to justice.

In addition to the support expressed by Crown Prince Abdullah to President Bush last week, the senior religious and legal scholars of Saudi Arabia have also denounced the barbaric events of September 11.
...

“The recent developments in the United States constitute a form of injustice that is not tolerated by Islam, which views them as gross crimes and sinful acts.”

-Chairman of the Senior Ulema Shaikh Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh, 9/15/01

“As a human community we must be vigilant and careful to oppose these pernicious and shameless evils, which are not justified by any sane logic, nor by the religion of Islam.”

My logic doesn't fly? Ha, well have you done more than 2 seconds of research? Seriously besides the article Jtex posted above, there are tons of aticles out there saying the same thing. A ton of statements by leaders of Muslim Groups.......Just because YOU didnt hear about it, and YOU didnt read it, doesnt mean it didnt happen. So they have openly condemned it many times, you still audacious enough to assume then that they condone it?

I'll just sit back now and get flamed by all you guys who cant seperate religion from a terrorist group, and from all of you who codemn my opinions because I am just plain too young to understand this vast world around me.

Hmm. One post gives thoughtful links showing Muslims grieving for the terrible thing that happened on Sept. 11, 2001. Another thoughtful post gives links showing how Mideast Governments were supportive of this type of behavior. So the only reasonable conclusion seems to be some Muslims, but not all Muslims, deserve a stamp. Cool.

Re: The U.S. Postal Service has got to be kidding

I'm glad I nauseate you 12fter. Congratulations you have shown me that the radical Muslims who follow Osama hate us.................Oh wait. Everyone who hasnt been under a rock for the past 20 years knew that.

I guess I havent noticed it was photoshopped. Feel free to show me your proof.

Seriosuly are you guys done grouping all Muslims into one group???? Can you imagine if other countries based their opinions of us on the radical groups who picket soldiers funerals. Man that would be a shame they would have the wrong idea of us as a whole wouldnt they...................

Re: The U.S. Postal Service has got to be kidding

I equate it to the post office deciding to comemorate Hitler durring WWII... But then, I really tyhink there is a meathod to the USPS' obvious madness, as I stated before.
Who will use these stamps?
Is not the technology already in place to track parcels bearing a certain stamp?
If sio, who can be "literally" followed wherever they corespond to?
Thank you.

crunch is citing biased editorial content. That is some third party's opinions. Am I saying they are biased?

Yes I am, but decide for yourself - the first one is "The Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs".

The 2nd, CATO institute, is a right-wing think tank.

The 3rd is just some random internet blogger.

Not a single actual Muslim spokesman. Not a single actual news source. Just more talking heads pretending to speak for a group they are not part of.

tex, you may not have noticed this, BUT ALL NEWS CONTENT IS BIASED, if you read about the same event in CNN, NBC, ABC, BBC, ect. you can see that they all have a different slant on the story, sometimes to the extent that you wonder if you are reading about the same event!

"Not a single actual Muslim spokesman. Not a single actual news source"

I looked, couldn't find a one that condemned terrorists.... wanna point a few out?

I have noticed that most news is slanted from one direction or the other - but I won't seek out bloggers and organizations with an agenda, and just take their word for it.

Here's a few actual press releases issued by actual Islamic spokesmen:

Re: The U.S. Postal Service has got to be kidding

Let's see, so when many prominent fundamentalist Christian leaders failed to loudly condemn the rash of abortion doctor killings and clinic bombings that were all in vogue a few years back, then that should have plainly shown that the whole religion and at least most of it's followers condoned and approved those attacks and assassinations. And therefore, there should be no stamps commemorating Christmas. ( of course, to listen to some of the posters here last year, you'd think that there was already a ban on christmas stamps... )

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that some of the folks here are still PO'd about the EID stamp. But I am a little surprised anyway, to see a whole new whacko thread about it...sheesh!

Seems like I remember lots of "out cry" against those atrocities... everyone and his brother with wife in tow was condemning them... nice try though.

Bottom line! My only son is in boot camp as this is being written. I want our country and all countries that stand with us, to totally annihilate any country that terrorists may feel safe or condones their activity. SCREW the talking. It is BS. Do or die. I believe that we had better tell the middle east.....the TOTAL middle east what we expect and what the consequences will be if they do not follow or get the fk out. What is the alternative? Turn our country into a singular entity. Lock the rest of the world out. Post our armies at all our borders. Fk the rest of the world. Or......totally annihilate the problem. Let civilized people live in peace and not have to worry about the POS that doesn't deserve the time of day. I"m sorry if I offend. I feel that now severe actions need to be taken. I am for the total loss of life in offending countries. The sooner the better.

I'm sure you include yourself in that?

So let's see... how many religious leaders here whipped the crowds up in the celebration of those atrocities? How many went to church that day and said the perpetrators were saints? How many religious leaders asked for more killers to come forward and smite the abortionists? How many collected funds for more attacks? Gave a death pension to the killers families?

You really need to get a perspective on this... and maybe even search your soul.

Yup, the Vietnam equation won't work here... time to sh*t or get off the pot.
