I was invited once to a deep sea fishing trip just outside the heads of Sydney Harbour.. The trip cost $60 and included all the lines and reels and started at 6am and went to 12 midday.Well being a young 26 year old I was out partying and clubbing until 3am the night before , grabbed a couple of hours sleep and drove to my pick up point feeling a little bit tired and drained .. Well, as we motored out of Botany Bay and into the big blue ocean we settled on a spot to fish and everyone threw there lines in... I was the first to catch a fish and as I was bringing it in, my body decided to bring up yesterdays dinner.. Well that was it for me.. I threw up another 47 times that day and to this day cannot stand any type of swell as my memory dictates to my stomach.. I even encouraged half the people on board to start by my moans and groans and was even contemplating swimming back to shore at one stage....To make things worse the captain in his infinite wisdom decided to stay out an extra 1 1/2 hours because the fishing was so good!! Part of me died on that boat ,I am sure!! $60 for 48 spews?! good value I guess....Not..

To make things worse the people I was on the boat with all worked in the pharmaceutical business and all took seasickness tablets before they started!!! Stick to skiing on the hawkesbury any day!!

Worked on a shrimp boat when i was a kid and prior to first trip out the captian asked me if i got seasick i told him i had never been out for more than a half days fishing before but was never sick before but was really not sure. His response was : Well if you do get sick we aint comin in cause no one ever died of seasickness yet! Thank god i did not because that would have been one miserable several weeks till the next port.

Hope it did not interfear with your fishing and thanks for the opertunity to reminise.

I went commercial trolling way back... Day 1 was great. Day 2 was a little rough and I didn't feel so good... by day 4 I was a mess. I lost over 10 pounds in the 5 days we were out.
