Re: The winter that just won't end..

So far this winter we have had heavy snow, major ice, floods, tornados, and mild tremors from an earthquake. Right now we're under another flash flood warning. I made a deal with my boss in December that I would work 60-75 hrs per week through the winter. He commented a couple of days ago he owes me a ton of boating time...

Jeesh I can't wait for boating season...

Lite snow and 32F where I am in Alaska, forecast says 35-40 for the next week, we had up to 50 earlier this week and it turned all the roads into a slush bog.

It's even 60 here today. Looking for my first Robbin, a sure sign of Spring. The Male Goldfiches are really gold now so Spring is on it's way! Still some snow and Ice left though.

Well, with the last 3 days of warm weather, the snow is melting.
I can now see 10% of the lawn. Still have about a foot of snow everywhere else, and quite a few areas that are 2 feet deep in the white stuff.

Bad news. we are suppose to have another 10 inches of snow here tomorrow night. And, high temps in the 30's. Just when the ground was getting dry enough to walk on. But, you know the frost is still not out.

On the good side it's suppose to be in the 50's by Monday.

Same here $&^$*)%$&) starting tomorrow night and they are saying for the next four days following. Guess that's the price we have to pay for living up in northern Michigan. The Lakes are still Ice covered but not safe to walk on anymore. I went by Higgins Lake 5 miles and Lake St Helen 12 miles yesterday and they both are still iced over :(

Do you boat often on the Grand Ledge River? We usually Boat Higgins Lake, Houghton Lake and a smaller Lake in West Branch. We are planning a trip to Lake Charlevoix this summer. We hope to be able to take in the whole lake in three days. We had over 130 inches of snow this winter. Most has melted now. Still a few piles left and some in the woods yet.

Guess what.. Snowing again.. And snow all day tomorrow. Man it really sucked out there this week. It was just raw. Tonight it was 34 and blowing sleet gusting to 45mph. Its a good thing I don't have any time for anything fun.

WE got a couple more inches on Tuesday, last night we got 2 more, today rain, tonight........ we are on the edge of the storm, could get 4 more, but 12+ are expected just 50 miles north of me. I hope it all stays north.
