Had a sunny day yesterday and it got up to 43 degrees, there is still plenty of snow on the ground everywhere and the lakes are still frozen, its been a long winter to me so I went out and got drunk hoping the weather gods were happy and let spring come.

Does it ever thaw out up there to where you can run a boat in a Lake? Or do you run Ice boats year around...Ha! Ha! It won't be long now. Just hang in there a couple more months. Well maybe three for you. It's sunny here in Northern Michigan but it's only 39 dg. High yesterday was 29 so you are warmer than we are and yes we still have Ice and snow on the ground.

almost good enough to go today. 50* and sunny. tonight is gonna be 26* though. . just left it in the driveway..... middle of the weeks gonna be 70*+.... better...... might have to be a slacker from work.......

I hear ya John!

The lake I go out on is liquid, has been for two weeks since that big wind / thaw day.

I made it down the creek to 23rd and then out on the lake Friday afternoon. Finally got warm enough....

This week looks good, although I started a job last week, so I'll be working all the day long. It's ok, this winter wasn't kind to the work / finance dept.

It's just nice to see some sun and feel some warm air! I swear I was beginning to forget what that felt like!

All that cold stuff has drifted down this way. To be sure not to have problems, I drained my manifolds/block just in case the freezing temps get too low. Sunday was an all wet day with mist/rain/snow mix. Absoulutly misreable an not being able to do anything outdoors.

In 2005, I docked my boat for its seasonal stay in the water on April 15th. Woke up the next morning to have 3" of the white stuff on the dock. Normally this weekend would have been my get it into the water weekend. However, I still got lots of cleaning and polishing to do to the hull from the lack of warmth.

One would think that with the global temps rising that we would be getting maybe an extra week or two of boating. Don't look like it is happening here.

Its not going to end? That sucks! I was hoping that we would have warmer days some day. I gues not then. I guess im going to sell my boat now cause i dont like cold weather, and if the winter is not going to end i dont think im going to use it anymore. So ill use the money from that to get some heaters. The stores around here dont have heaters anymore they all have AC's. Maybee someone should tell the retailers that the winter is not going to end! Im supprised that they dont know that if you guys know. They are going to have a hard time selling those air conditioner's now since there is not going to be a spring or summer anymore. I just called Wal-mart here in my town and let them know that the winter in not going to end and asked if they could order some space heaters.

This does seem like the longest winter ever. We are finally going to be getting some very nice weather tomorrow and the rest of this week, which I am excited about.

Went up to the cabin in NW Wisconsin this past Saturday to pull the carbs off my outboard to bring them home to clean them..

Lets just say that I was pulling them with snow falling all around me.. Woke up to snow all around. My fingers were numb..

Like I said, it just doesn't want to end.

Winter Oh man.....Well I feel your pain my boats in the shop should be done this week.

Were already hitting 85+ supposed to be in the 90's this weekend.. I better have my cruser back or else!

Well, Anchorage had grass everywhere on Thursday. It started snowing Friday Morning. By Saturday Morning, there was 22" of snow on the ground.
It is almost all gone now, but it was fun to watch it come down.

I can derive absolutely no pleasure in seeing snow fall, or melt, nor do I ever wish to see a frost.
I do have to tolerate it every so often when i return to New Zealand to see my family, but that is for a very fixed and short period.
I am a man of the sub-tropics, and watching Chevvy Chase (every yr) prepare his light for Xmas is as close as i wish to get to the stuff.
