Yeah, I heard he likes Starbucks too . . .

Who we really need is Jack Clark, Ding Chavez and the rest of Rainbow Six. This guy is begging for a visit from them.

The "Genie" is out of the bottle.

Ransom, is the only game the "rogues" will play.

We'll buy their cheap cars and trucks and love it. All the while fueling our own death.

But, who cares. We Americans only think of "me" for now.

Look to the Western sky for a big light.

Here's a hint, it ain't Jesus.

So what did anyone expect? They need economic help, which the west can offer, and now they have something the west wants.

I think it is encouraging that they want to barter, and all we are haggling over is the price.

But we clearly have something they should want. Frankly, economic progress in that area is a good thing, and is in our long term interests to ensure they are successful (And disarmed, of course) It will be a difficult negotiation, of course, but I don't really think we need or want another war.

I'm with you Alden. The problem I have is that this has been the plan of N. Korea all along. We pay them now, they stop for a minute. Then they are in trouble and start back up and will not stop until they get a greater price. We took a stand on WMD when there were none to be found in Iraq. We know they(N. Korea) have them and we are willing to pay them??? It is much like negotiating with terrorist over hostages, and we don't do that. As long as Kim Jong Il is running the show, we will be in constant struggle with them.

There is but one common denominator, and that is China, if North Korea truly possesses nuclear weapons, it is because China wants it to be so, the present situation jump starts China in becoming a geo political player on the world stage sooner than expected.

True.

China is the one with the cards, in this case.

Instead of the 100 million why don't we just give them about 4 or 5 "nukes" for free. Dropped from the sky and fully armed to go off at 4000 feet. :D :p :D

It reminds me of the story "The Mouse That Roared." Pretty soon we will act like the surrender monkeys.

But we clearly have something they should want.
It seems to me every every country that pumps oil or enriches uranium has US right where they want US these days.
Regardless of the price at the pump, I'm begining to think that oil is just getting too expensive.

Heaven forbid someone mention the "I" word.
To bad we couldn't change attitude of on them. Sure would help matters if we became "i"ndependent from all of them.
Makes sense that our homegrown technology would evolve towards that independence. Independent energy technology would flourish.
The whole attitude would result in US holding a lot of cards. Without the burdens of being the "worlds police."
When the rest of the world is choking on oil and the world begs US to come out to play again. We could market to the world some real US made products they just couldn't live without.

Skinny, what you suggest would drive all of the big money into dire staights.....
We can't end corporate welfare.....
What would the Jones' think!.....
We will play the game.....
We should say "All IN"!
What really should happen is for them to see the cards turned face up.....
China sux!
We can do better by exploiting poor people in our own hemisphere for corporate gain ;) ....JK
