The Year and Model Of my engine.

Good day all, I recently bought a Yamaha Enduro 48HP engine and I am not sure of the model. The only number I can find on the engine is 383688. I don't know if this is a serial number or not. The CD Ignition Unit has the markings TIOI-42A 696-11. Does this mean anything to anyone? <br /><br />I am going to use this engine on a 12 foot boat and I need to know if the engine will be too heavy for the boat or not. Is it possible to post a pic of the boat here? If so, can you tell me how. Thanks for your time.

It is hard to believe a 48 could be safe on a 12 foot boat.Most boats have a capacity tag on the transom.<br /> If the boat is designed specifically for high performance and or racing etc it could be safe if installed and operated properly.You should do some research first however.<br /> If you check here there are instructions on posting pictures.<br /> A good description would help as well.

Thanks for the comments. Can anyone give me some ideas on building a bracket for this engine? I need a sturdy and safe design. Do any of you know of a site possibly, where I can see different types of brackets? Thanks.
