On a VP Duo-prop. At $1000 for the pair, there must be SOME type of security device (chain-mail bag w/lock?) to keep them on the boat if it's in a hotel parking lot or out in front of the house overnight.

Any ideas, or am I smokin crack?

I don't know about the locking device, but I always paint my stainless props black, then they don't look special.

a little rust color in there (to make look rusty around the joints) should deter them off. unless there desperate.

I like the old unpolished stainless props OMC used back in the day.

Picked up a Mcgard lock. Seems well made, and would at least deter and delay.

Can't ask for much more until my *patented* chain-mail / cable lock bag hits the market. ;)

I've been using the McGard lock on my prop for a few seasons now, never had any problems with it. I had to get a replacement plastic cap for the lock, and their customer service people were easy to work with.

How hard is it to just remove the prop when at motel?? No cost at all.
