There is snow out there!!!!

Well it is finally that time SNOW!!!, it started at 0100am and has not stopped.
Wife just called and said its rainning down in the valley, that the price you pay living at 2500 feet as compared to 1100 feet in town.

Must be in the valley ... no snow here ... just a lot of rain yesterday and this a.m. and WIND today! Gusting like crazy, got everything in the yard tied down! At least the leaves are all gone ... don't have to rake the last of them!

We got a foot in the yard here in Minnesota last weekend. The same week it was 70 degrees 4 days prior. It hasn't melted yet. Are you a snowmobiler?

Well winter has come a bit early this year, had to plow today, this is the earliest I have had to plow for the last 5 years, could be a long time till I see green grass again!

I remember in Tucson when it snowed (yes, it snows in Tucson, AZ), the snow was always indicated by altitude rather than location. Weather report would always read something like "snow starting at 7000 feet, descending to 3000 feet by early afternoon". It was interesting to see how there was definitely a hard line between snow and no snow. Tops of the mountains would be white, then a definite line where the snow would stop.

You all can keep the snow up there. We've been told by our local weather guru that we will see little if any snow this year in North GA due to a strong "La Nina". Hopefully that means we will get to fishing again by early March!

Last year we had our first small snow in October. This year it looks like thanksgiving will be in the 50's. I actually loved the 2 big storms of last year. Everybody else complaining about snow removal and I enjoyed it.

Bite your tongue sir. They were a nightmare for us. Our neighborhood is a bit remote and the drifting was ridiculous. This year however I have a snowblower (purchased just after the last big storm last year) and a Jeep GC

....well, it had to happen. We got some snow last night...just a dusting and it will probably be gone in the next couple of hours. Hopefully, we won't see too much more of it this year although the temperature is going to be around 0?c (32?f) for the next couple of days.
On the upside hopefully this is a banner year for Whistler and Mount Washington ski resorts who often see snow bases in excess of 5 metres (15+ feet). Nothing like having to build your condo up there with the porch 15' above the ground just so when you arrive in January you can walk straight in.

Every year I get out the snowmobile, routine maintenance, gas her up, put away the boat shoes, and I'll be darned...no snow.

One morning I found frost on the windshield, donned the wetsuit and drove around the neighborhood with the windows down and my head out the window. Pretty invigorating, I might say!

Maybe my luck will change this year.
