The boat was repowered in 2007 under previous ownership. Up until now, the maintenance items I've bought through iBoats for a WT engine, have been fine.

I ordered a new t-stat, retaining o-ring and housing gasket from iBoats. What I received is all different from what's in the boat now. The new stuff is all smaller than the old.

The new t-stat has a smaller diameter flange than the old one. The new o-ring has a smaller diameter than the old one, and the housing gasket has a wider sealing surface than the old one. The shape of it is the same and the holes line up, but the inner edge of it intrudes into the cooling passage.
I put everything back together as I wasn't having any issues with the old one. I'll defer the swap until next season, as I plan to overhaul the cooling system then, anyway.

Which t-stat assembly do I need to buy? The old t-stat looks for all the world like any automotive unit I ever saw in the 60's and 70's. Worst case, I'll just haul the the old parts to a dealer to match them up.
