I'm still having issues with my fathers 1967 75hp. I cant get it to pump right and a buddy of mine asked if I had checked the thermostat....Does this year have a thermostat? I am having a heck of a time finding anything about this motor online. The model number on the plate says 7573 and the serial number is 2480.

Thanks

Re: Thermostat for 67 75hp Chrysler

I have '69 70 hp and to get to my thermostat one has to remove the water jacket cover from the cylinder head. Remove the spark plugs. Carefully unbolt the cover, and remember that your thermoswitch is also a "bolt" with a wire attached, remove the cover and the thermostat should be right up top. Be careful that you don't warp or break the cover when removing. She is pretty thin aluminum. Be careful too with the gasket, they can be a little tough to find and pricey. Permatex et. al can be used in a pinch, but care must be used to ensure the cover and mating surface are true. Pretty sure your's is similar. Hope this helps. Good luck...
