You would likely have cooling problems.
What seams to be the trouble?

There are 2 of them.-----On a fresh water motor they are easy to remove / inspect.----Just 3 screws.-----What is your motor doing / not doing ?-----Does your motor get a new impeller every 5 years ?

Tell tail has plenty of water running through it then gets hot and starts drop streaming and also only one exhaust port has water coming out of it

The water from the tell tale does NOT circulate through the block.------And it does NOT indicate that motor is cooling properly.----Perhap look into a blockage in water cooling jackets.----An item called a " diverter " comes to my mind.----And yes , remove and test those thermostats and inspect poppit valves.

i have had sand get in my t stats.it would cause it set off alarm.so i have a temp gauge now. so when it hits 160 i know its restricted,so i pull both t stats, start motor this flushes the sand/debris.re install same t stats and im good to go until the next time im in shallow water
