Ok, dumb question. The thermostat should not come apart. Correct?

Broken one on the left, good one on the right.

The left one came out of my 15 a week ago.

it was actualy the top that disconnected from the four pegs that stick through it.

While I have it out, is there anything I should consider going?

I would just start the motor once, with it out and the cover off, to make sure that the impeller is pushing water good.

Much better than 2 months ago thansk for asking, still on a 5 lb lift limit so all of it happens with the left.
