Ok I'll bite. Every boat should have a thermostat, if not you should have one installed.
With the 'muffs' on, you should have immediate water out of the exhaust.
I would assume due its age, this would have a closed system with a sea water intake to cool the anti freeze.
Do your self a favor and purchase a manual on the boat and educate yourself as I did and countless other here have done.:D

Re: Thermostat

We can be of much more help to you if you describe the problem your having and what you have done troubleshooting wise to correct it instead of asking roundabout vauge questions.

1. All liquid cooled engines have thermostats

2. There is no predetermined time as to when a tstat opens up. It opens when it's hot.

AND to add....

The water will appear at the back of the boat when the raw water pump primes and rest of the raw water cooling system fills enough to start dumping the water overboard out through the risers.

Re: Thermostat

TiredoleBoy,first off I thought there was one someone told me there wasn't so I just wanted to check.I did order service manual it just hasn't arrived yet so I thought I would ask a few questions.I thought my son flooded the boat because he was pumping the throttle. When I went to start it it fired right up and died then would not turn over.Thought the battery was dead so I charged it and tried it again. It took a couple tries the fired up but it appears to have water or gas in the oil.Now that I have changed the oil and done a compression test which was fine I wanted to run it but there is no water coming out and that was why im here.

Jeez relax, you don't need to explain your self to me.
