Maybe you should have built an ark instead.

Well look at the bright side, you don't have the house on their yet.
And the posts will be "flood tested".

Over engineering WIN! I was wondering how your project was doing. Glad to see your calculations were correct.

It appears that your cabin has an issue with water in the basement.......

How you going to get up-and-down when the tides out?
I have been following your floods - pretty bad.

Cheers

Ok Ok fun time in the Delta. Now I'm ready to build a Grand Canyon from the Ohio to West Texas to help with drought in that area:D. Might even help with the flooding here. Wanted to go take more pics of this Historic Event we are living but The Corp of Engineers closed the levy to all traffic . Can't even walk up without being arrested. Kinda glad we had a bad winter now. Probably have the walls up by now. Homes and crops in the south delta are flooded and more going under daily. Looks like its going to be a long summer.

The Mississippi does as she pleases, doesn't she? I grew up in KY and the wee little Ohio has a tendancy to do this as well (as she's done recently) every time the Miss rises. I've had a house surrounded by water and it's not a nice feeling at all because you're helpless. Looks like you made all the right decisions on setting your height, but those stairs are gonna be a bugger. I'm in Fla, now and in a subdivision where most of the houses are stilts and the trend now is automotive lifts as "elevators". Something to think about....Stay safe down there and as dry as you can.

Yes, good luck Autotech. Just read the flood forcast for Mississippi. Not looking good at all.
