Re: They tore down my dock today

Sorry but that isn't you dock, it was your grandfathers than your father's. You were just leasing a spot on the lake. It's no different than having a slip at a marina and being told that you can't dock your boat there anymore. Just be happy that you have a place to use your boat.

As for 'your taxes paying for it' that was said in a few post that is not the way it's done in Pennsylvania. The fish commission is separate from the legislature. The only money they receive is through the sale of boating licenses, permits, access fees and fishing licenses. They receive NO FUNDS from the general state funds. They pay their own way just like our game commission does.

The PFC can what they want, when they want, when ever they please and all the complaining won't do a bit of good.

Spunkyjr, I totally understand that it was not mine but if you read the entire thread quoting comments that are not mine you are being premature.
Here is my thread concerning the PF&BC

"Well, in PA here is how it goes with the "pave the road" detail.
The Pennsylvaina Fish and Boat Commission is governed by a board of 10 commissioners appoined by the Governor for 8 year terms, the Commission itself is a government entity and does not accept or run on taxpayer dollars. Their budget is from the sale of fishing licenses, boat registrations, ect. They do not answer to the state legislature or to the governers office, they operate within themselves and are governed by the appointed commissioners. So I guess paving roads is out of the question, but they could have used that money to stock fish, repair boat ramps, ect. ect. ect."

Again my question is why this had to be done not trying to be greedy or anything, so be more informed next time you post.

I would be sending those before and after photos to every PA politician I could get an address for. Absolutely pathetic.

You are wasting time with politicians. Go to the newpaper. Go to the actual building ans ask for someone to tell your full story to.

A politician will not care less what happened to your dock.

I'm so sorry to hear that, and sorrier that your state representative was the usual do-nothing. The government is getting bigger and bigger, and our rights, well, you know. Sounds like a heckuva nice pier, one that I'll bet you treasured. A real shame. It sounds like somone was jealous---why else would they want to tear down a nice pier? Was it in the way? Ugly?
