They win! Selling the boats...

Can't stand it any more. I'm selling all the boats, leaving iBoats, and buying a chevy truck (nevermind I already have one). The incessant pop-ups have driven me stark raving mad like the Alaskan moose that jumps off a cliff to avoid mosquitos. Used to be they popped up once when you first got on. Then every page. now they won't give me the X to close them; they are as constant, and useful, as the brown scum line around the hull of my white boat.

Seriously, do they think they can annoy someone into spending $20,000? I have no reason to do business with telemarketers, email spammers, and now Chevrolet. Rather than increase my interest in the product, they are chasing me away. And same goes for internet sites that go from an appropriate amount of advertising, which I know it's necessary, to a level advertising that makes the site non-functional.

Firefox with Adblock Plus - never seen a popup that i didn't open myself... in many years!
There are seriously popups here? Haven't advertisers realized the popups and spam both work negatively to 99% of people..?

Sure they aren't malware related?

Re: They win! Selling the boats...

I haven't seen the Chevy ad in a month.

Sounds like a problem at your end, not iboats.

I rarely get more than one ad per session, often times I get none.

I don't use chrome, and don't run any second party blockers either.

The "CLOSE [X]" is way over to the right on my browser.

I saw the Chevy ad when I opened this thread. It's almost like muscle memory now when I navigate to a new page here: Arrow moves down to the bottom right to close the pop-up.

I can't find it on my browser. Used to be able to close it out all the time, but not now. I am using a work computer and I can't modify anything for browser settings, no admin access...probably shouldn't ask them to add a pop-up blocker for my net surfing.

I've already posted this a couple times, but if you add *.servicesiboats.com to your restricted sites list then all the crap goes away

Re: They win! Selling the boats...

It's not supposed to be happening, and iboats is looking into why it is.

My question to you is why you don't have a popup or ad blocker, some are free and you can turn them on and off at will for what ever site you are on.
Then you don't have to ever see the Chevy add again. Or, just send iboats $20,000 a year to offset the income of those ads, then you won't have to look at them anymore.

All you guys that complain about the pop ups.
Get a free ad/popup blocker program and quit yer bitchen.

It would be nice if iBoats had a paid subscription level that dropped all the popup and non iBoats product ads. I pay $20 a year on pirate4x4 to eliminate the same sorts of ads.

Come on Homey. This can't be the first time you have read about this issue
Download Mozilla Firefox and use it for this site no pop ups ever

Again, set your browser up correctly and you will never see a pop up, I have not seen one for over a year now!

Re: They win! Selling the boats...

The only time I see any add is when I disable my adblocker. Usually to see what everyone is crying about. Then enable it again and all is good. Been this way since 2000.

Yeah, unfortunately that didn't work for me and IE9. Two banners on either side plus the one at the bottom. The X to close the bottom banner used to be immediately aparent but now it seems to be hidden until a predetermined amount of time allows it to appear and be closed.

Two days ago there was a fly across add but that seems to be gone now.....

How do the pop-up blockers effect the pop-up which appears to upload photos as an attachment? In screwing around I set the pop-up block setting in IE9 to "high" and it prevented me from posting pics.

Or just sell one boat and step up to the 21 Century and spring for an iPad! I hear those doohickeys are just starting to gain some consumer interest :D
