Couple floods home after bedroom target practice with assault rifle

By Barbara Hijek May 25, 2011 07:04 AM
The 21-year-old woman told St. Lucie County sheriff's deputies that she and her husband, 33, are divorcing.
But on Sunday they got together for a little target practice using an AR-15 assault rifle ? in their bedroom, reports Will Greenlee in his Off the Beat blog for TCPalm.com.
According to the incident report, the couple told police they have done this "on many occasions."
Investigators found .223 caliber and .45 caliber cartridge casings in the master bedroom and a wood and metal shooting target in the bedroom closet of the Fort Pierce house. Bullet holes riddled the washing machine.
And the water from the washing machine covered most of the floors.
Asked to write a sworn statement, the soon-to-be-ex-wife said, "I'll try my best but I'm drunk."
The deputies took three guns from a safe.
And here's the DUH part: Nobody was arrested

Sasto, that article must have been about Arkie transplants. I would have to mention, it is uncommon for the husband to divorce his wife in a situation like that.

Do you guys have any relatives here in Flori-Duh? I'm not writing this, just the reporter.

After drinking hard liquor and beer for several hours a her son's birthday party on Monday, Tina S. Gonzales, 33, of Naples, decided to enter her neighbor?s apartment without permission, reports the Naples Daily News.

http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/news/specials/weirdflorida/blog/mug_Gonzales.jpg
She was repeatedly asked to leave.

That's when things got messy: After throwing a piece of the cake at her neighbor and punching her, Gonzales pinned the neighbor on the ground and bit the inside of her arm.
But deputies were able to solve this case and take a bite out of crime.

They concluded the bite marks matched the teeth and gaps of the Naples woman.
That was easy to determine since the other folks that were present either had no teeth at all or only a few.

Sounds like this crowd opened way too many beer bottles with their teeth.

Yes, it was. However, everything was fine until Alice Walton crashed the party.

Police say burglary suspect carried large-screen TV on bike

By Barbara Hijek June 3, 2011 02:58 AM
Bicycles aren't the best getaway vehicle when you plan to steal a 59-inch TV.
A bicycle patrol officer spotted Steven Long, 23, in South Daytona about 4:20 a.m. Sunday carrying a 59-inch TV wedged between his lap and the handlebars on a bicycle, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/news/specials/weirdflorida/blog/mug_Long.jpeg
When Long saw the officer he fled, later abandoning the bike and TV.
But Long was caught.
Cops contacted the family that had just reported a burglary.
They identified the $2,000 TV, now broken beyond repair, as the one they had just bought less than a week ago.
