I have a 75 hp chrysler, model number 75673, serial number 5225, not sure of the year on it, but upon looking at the lower unit today, i think i might have found a problem, it seems to have a cracked housing around the prop, pictures enclosed, and im not sure what the piece name is to even begin to look for a new one the pice show the part well, and it moves more if i shift the drive into gear , any help identifing the part and how it could be fixed or replaced is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Shane
(pictures enclosed 2 on the site prop 1 and prop 2)
pictures

cannot enlarge the pictures for a good look. Don't know where it is cracked. You might be able to get the piece welded and machined back in shape.

Its cracked at both the top and bottem where the nuts hold it on, and upon further looking thru my manuals and online resourses, i think the part is called the bearing retaining ring, or something, like that, from what i can tell is the rear bearing sits inside the housing, so im thinking i will have to find a replacement for it, which could be tough since im not sure exactly what year the motor is think late 60's.
Shane

Yep, I put your pic in my photo editor and enlarged it and its junk, and also beyond any welding repair. Best bet is start with a local boat dealer and find the guy in your town who has the backyard full of old motors-every town has one-and start the asking around. And start checking ebay for a lower unit. That part is out there, ya just got to find it. Think the old white 75/85 hp are the same in that year range. Good luck

It doesn't look like you need the entire LU but, it's probably the best way to go. Got mine on ebay.
