'89 Evinrude XP150 (E150STLCEM). No spark now, and a history of erratic spark loss on random cylinders. Good charge coil output when cranking (at least 275 volts both sides), and still no spark when red engine harness disconnected. Sensor coil resistance very high from white to purple wires - around 8 MegaOhms white to port purple wire, and around 6 MegaOhms white to starboard purple wire. Using Fluke 87 and Stevens PVA-1 adapter, I get no output voltage between the white wire on port timer base connector and any of the six blue, green or purple wires. I'm ready to order a new timer base, but just wanted to check to make sure everyone thinks I'm on the right track? I'm getting very anxious to get this rig back in the water - thanks so much for your help!!!
