Hello Folks I'm thinking about buying a new boat. I was looking at the tracker proguide v-175 sc or the v-16 sc. Are you folks happy with your tracker boats? Does anybody have one of these two models? I have had some people tell me that the quality is not that good: poor welds that crack, poor design and other things. So I was just looking for some feedback before I deciede. I like the size and setup of these boats, but I am haveing doubts. Also it looks like you can only get a painted trailer not galvanized are tracker trailers galvinized then painted? I am also considering Alumacraft and Lund. The Lunds have less beam though. It seems like you get more boat for the buck from tracker but I'm worried about quality. Is the tracker a good investment? I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks

After reading all the horror stories on Tracker on the net I went with a Lund.
Little more money but I think you get a better boat.

Re: Thinking about buying a tracker

I disagree with the two previous posts. I have a 99 tracker 175 and it has preformed flawlessly for me over the last 11 years. I have had no problems with welds or rivits, the boat is as solid as it was when I bought it. I often beach the boat and the hull is holding up great and it has been through plenty of rough water at speed. All the electronics are the origional and the livewell and builge are pumping great. I love my tracker boat it has provided countless trips to the lake and more than often a day of tubing for my family. As far as the trailer I don't think it is galvinized, but I have no rust what so ever. The only thing I have done to the trailer is grease the hubs which is very convenint because it has bearing buddies so all you need is a standard grease gun. The only suggestion I have is stick with the larger motors. I know they offered that model with as small as a 25hp and that is not nearly enough motor to move that boat. I have a 75 force on mine and it moves along at around 30 or so up here (~6000 feet). For the money I think they are worth every cent. Lunds and alumacrafts are great boats but then again no one is going to spend that much money and say it is a piece. Either way I think you will do just fine, I would by another tracker... if this one ever wears out.

Re: Thinking about buying a tracker

I have had my Tracker PT190tx for three years now It has performed flawlessly with the only issue being the Motor Guide Trolling motor. Cant blame Tracker for that but they replaced it pronto.
