Re: Thinking about going back to Internet Explorer

I have IE11 and I like it, and more importantly I'm used to it. But it just does not seem to work with certain web pages. I get all sorts of java errors. 1/2 of the yahoo web pages will not load correctly, or crash the browser. But other sites, like iboats works just fine. I don't get it. I remember back in the day that IE would work with everything, no problems.

Just for grins using IE - see if you can view this site. Click on one of the menu items (Skis, boots, etc) and see if you get anything other than a new background. I've never been able to figure out if it is IE or if they have so much java in the site that my security settings keep it from working. Only site I've ever seen this on and it is a really goofy looking artsy site. Great skis, horrible website.

Radar Waterskis - Manufacturer of Waterskis, Waterski Boots, Waterski Vests, Life Vests, Watersports Towables, Waterski Ropes, Waterski Handles, Waterski Gloves, Waterski Apparel

I am still using IE 8 because I refuse to upgrade from XP to get ie9 or ie10. I went to that site and all the tabs worked perfectly. I only have 2 or 3 sites that I go to that doesn't support IE. In those cases I use Chrome or FF.

This is why I originally switched to FF. iboats was a slug on IE.

I've never tried Safari on a PC. Of course do so on iPad. Can you get a sidebar for bookmarks? Must for me.

Switched all the way over yesterday. So far. Very happy. FF has been passed. Performance much better, uses less CPU, no crashes so far (was crashing often with FF) scrolls better, loads pages faster. Pretty much performs as FF did when I switched in the first place.

Oh, I like full page width Tabs with FF better, but I have more room with the address bar where it is on IE, so maybe a good thing. Taller page.

I don't use it, but you can get the bookmark sidebar on the Mac version. I've never tried Safari on Windows.
