Yep, I use my gas grill several times a week ... just used the rotisserie portion of it and did a really good burgandy/pepper round roast. Oh my! Tender, juicy, tasty ... tasted like a prime cut of meat!

I have to agree my gas grill does a good job. The lava rocks suck up the drippings and give good flavor with the chip box. Its just the new ones don't have lava rock or even a place to put it. If you look there's just a grate, heat deflectors and flames. No taste there. Sure you can put a chip box in there for smoke but what about the drippings and all that flavor.

Roasts and turkeys on the spit. YUMMY. We well put one on about 1pm and let it slow roast for about 4-5 hours wile were doing yard work or what ever. Bast every now and then. Yup I know what I,m doing this week end.:D

I like gas for the ease and speed, and multiple burners are great for indirect cooking lots of things. But my best tasting BBQ or smoking, comes from a mix of charcoal or lump charcoal, and pieces of wood soaked for hours in a variety of liquids, Oak, Apple,Hickory,Cherry,Grapevines the list goes on.........

And a back "rotisserie" burner with motorized spit. Keeps flare-ups to ZERO. Best addition possible. Snag a ribeye roast from BJ's or Sams, sprinkle with Montreal seasoning, let 'er roll around on there for 60 minutes or so. Heaven.
