I have a 1999 2100. The dealer told me the same thing, they are the "West Coast" Whalers. The quality is much better than SeaFox, Key West, Bayliner Trophy. Go to a dealer and look at one, you will be impressed with the quality. I have had only minor repairs (snaps, switch that kind of stuff) in seven seasons. Good Luck
