Motor: Merc500 Thunderbolt
Boat: 1975 Crestliner Fishing Admiral

The previous owner informed me the original motor blew and he had to replace it. I am looking for the year as the info is a little out of the norm. The transom and lower unit are the original with the SN: 5336393. He said they stayed the same and just the motor was just exchanged. There is no aluminum plate; the motor is etched MNO271121139 in multiple spots. The cowling has red highlights. I believe it is a 1969. But would like to know so I can get a manual. It is in beautiful shape. Very clean.

Thank you

I think you're in the ballpark guessing late 60's on the powerhead. The red band Mercs were a 60's engine, followed in the 70's by the blue band on the cowling. Mated to a 79 leg and lower...interesting. Those in-line Merc 4's are great engines when you get them tuned and running right. Wish I still had my 73 Merc 500.
