This Is An Insurance Ad???

I have seen an insurance ad in several boating& fishing mags from a well known insurance company that is a boating no no ,at least in Florida...It shows a boaters arm dangling of the side of the side of the boat, hand is touching the water...That is a boating citation as well as unsafe...what do they plan on advertising for car ins. a person tossing a beer bottle out of a moving vehicle?

I'd be more than willing to introduce you to several FMP/DEP/FWC/MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF that would jump at the sight of riders dangling their legs over/under bow rails etc...

If you go go boat-ed.com for the state of florida, how to boat smart,chapter 4 unlawful operation of a vessel , the 4th bullet reads riding on the bow,deck,gunwale,transom, risk of going overboard...

Smothering yer face in honey, then sticking it in a anthill aint smart either..BUT...a moving boat has ALL...whatever...NOT chasing a "finger in the water"..
Who comes up with this BS...??..(wait..I know..IDIOTS!)..out to save you from getting out of bed..ya JUST might hurt yerself...at a reasionable "deductible' of course...(shut the tube off....150 channels of good old Billy Mays..).. (just posting for rank here now..)

Yea thats stupid im going to dangle my arm out when i drive my boat! Thats like saying that you are no longer to Fly your hand out of the window of a moving car. Come on you are not a MAN if you have not flew your hand out the window of a moving car! I see nothing wrong with it. What could happen a fish might strike your hand? Or you might hit a log with your hand or something? I cant see the problem? You got a better chance getting hit by lightning or something!

Dangling your legs over the bow is not the same as trailing your hand in the water. The law covers the dangers of being pulled or tossed overboard. Kinda like riding in the back of a pickup.

Legs yes, but only above wakeless speed because they would not be seated. An arm out the side at any speed is ok as long as they are fully seated i.e. not dangling their upper body over the side.
