My boat is being pulled today (Thursday) but I have still been in the water when snow flies in the past.

When the highs don't reach 80+ degrees, is when I put my boat away for the season . I'm old and feeble mined though

The first two years we had our Carver, we fished Lake Michigan to mid November and still weren't quite the last to be pulled. Those are now memories and would not be repeated at my age.

We are definitely warm weather boaters. If I'm not willing to get in the water, I'm not putting my boat in it either.

My Season is really never over. We stay in as long as the fish are in the area. Usually out the end of December and back in early to mid-March.

November and December is the best and most beautiful time of the year to be out there. Fish are schooled up. Geese and Ducks are here by the thousands.

Blast and Cast is a very popular past time.Limit out fishing in the morning then anchor up and blast a limit of bird in the afternoon.

Did I mention the Sunsets are unreal on the water?...lol

Just pulled Blind Date out today. Looking pretty lonely at the Tonka Bay city docks - Lake Minnetonka, MN. Ice was forming around the edges of the little bay it's slipped in. Started right up and ran like champ even in 40F weather. 14 seasons and I haven't touched the motor or drive in it other than routine maintenance.

That's OK when we put our boats away the winter toys come out! As a boater you couldn't pay me to leave this state and move somewhere else. Even with the winters nothing can touch it for boating. As you get older you realize "Less is More" & the fact that the most active "Classic Glastron" chapter by a country mile is in MN says it all right there.

Yeah, I won't even take the boat off the lift if it is below 70. My sleds haven't moved since the winter of 2013, the last time we had real snow.

Used to leave my toon in until the last minute too. Always took care of the neighbors 'toon next door as well. One year I was especially busy and the ice caught me by surprise. I did see it was forming, but figured it would break up and blow away in a day or so. Finally, I got concerned because the little 25 horse I had at the time didn't have enough poop to break the ice. Had to use the neighbors 50hp boat to "break trail" the half mile to get to the boat landing! Lesson learned here....

I'm 64 and have lived lots of places. Frigidly cold (-20F) and blisteringly hot (+125F). Back in 1983 I went from +115F to -10F in less than 24 hours. I wasn't dressed for it either!

I like it here although I wouldn't mind living in north Georgia, but it's too late for that now.

Went fishing this morning. We only caught one little catfish. My wife got bored so we left in less than 2 hours.


But it was really nice out there this morning.
