I've seen other AIS location sites, but this one of the SF Bay region (I live nearby) is awesome. Click on the "full days animation" or "view current map full screen" for fun. I find myself sitting and clicking on ships, coffee in hand, on Sunday mornings. It's just neat to have access to this real-time tech...and the NOAA map overlay with google earth is cool to play with. I have a new respect for the Pilots that are on-station 24/7 (from what I can tell).
