So I got my new tires on the trailer and had bearings serviced, but they said my left brake was smoked because the cylinder is freezing.

Where do I buy trailer brake parts? Auto parts stores just look at me like I'm stupid or something. We were supposed to go to a lake about 60 miles away thursday, but it's l;ooking like that's not going to happen.

What do all you guys do for trailer parts and service. I can do the brakes if I can get the parts, but I can't get the parts. I also don't know how to locate instructions on how to bleed my brakes that I have.

Any help is great!

Northern Tool around here has quite a bit of trailer parts. Tractor supply has a little bit. There's a trailer place called Textrail that has everything and then some- don't know if there's one local to you or not. Maybe check out the yellow pages.

I've had good experiences with e-trailer.com. Very fast and knowledgeable people on the telephone if you have to call.

e-trailer is good and trailerpartsdepot.com seems to have stuff at good prices.

My problem of needing something now has been resolved though. I had to start cold calling everyone in the phone book and finally found someone who had the wheel cylinders. Then I had to go digging around advance auto parts for the pin from the cylinder to the shoes that my crack pot tire store decided to throw away on me. It was funny, I was almost giddy when I found the parts.

Needless to say, I have trailer brakes now. I guess I didn't have them before.

Agreed, have used both recently when refurbishing my boat trailer and they prices are great with quick/cheap shipping. I purchased a brake actuator, bunch of brackets/u-bolts/rollers/etc and all of it arrived quickly and packaged well. Can't say enough good about those two online vendors. If I needed something in a pinch, there are a few trailer shops around that have a decent selection of parts/accessories.

Hate to say it, but Amazon. I have learned over the last year everything is available on Amazon.com. I added an axle, but to do it I removed the old leaf spring set up and added 2 torsion axles, plus added electric breaks to my pontoon trailer over the winter. When searching the internet I kept getting pointed to them and when I ordered the axles ended up coming directly from Northern tool, and the breaks from e-trailer, except I didn't have the shipping charges added on. So even though I got the parts from E-Trailer and NT, it was cheaper to purchase them through Amazon.
