SO!!!!!, monday myself and the crew headed north, 12 hours driving to FT ST JAMES BC.
Tuesday, It is -26c, I go to the compound to see the truck, it is buried in a sloped snow drift 6 ft on the one side 4 ft on the other. Time to dig out the truck (pics to follow)

IT finally comes out of the hole with the help from a backhoe pulling out the bucket truck and cable trailer (wheels were frozen in ice, 4 inches+-) well we have to get a CVI done (commercial vehicle inspection) on the truck and trailer (they have been here since mid october)
Every things good except that it will not build air, so after a cup or four of air line anti freeze we have moved the frozen moisture out of the lines and we are building air in the tanks,
and we are stickered for six months `GOOD`
Wendsday, we wait for the manager to show up with the paper work so we can get started, 12 pm he shows, 1 pm we get to prefield the job, -24c at 2pm, rum time!!!!
Thursday goes good except for the flaggers boss giving us a third flagger when we only need 2, guess she just wants to see how far she can push the envolope before we fire them, OH ya
-12 with a wind chill of -29c or so, BLOW BLOW BLOW:facepalm:
Friday placed 500 meters of cable (OH YEA three flaggers again GRRRRR), Genny dies will not make AC power (boom needs AC to work everything), get truck stuck trying to get the boom, which is out the side back to the middle of the street UGH

OK, so to cap, only tech is two hours away, replacement part is $950.00 and 5 days away to be ordered on monday as it is Friday afternoon!!!!!!

So I got a company (when they fined the time this weekend) to cannobolize bucket truck 2`s genny for the parts required (which is 12 hours south at home), Get the wife to send them up on the DOG and get the tech to drive in from Prince George BC (2 hours travel one way)
on monday!!!

WAY TO MUCH DOWN TIME UUUUUUUUUUUUGH:facepalm:
so this is why ranting about living a country western song.

Oh come on -24c is only about -10 on the F temp scale. Just think about how cold it could have been a month or two ago. -10F is indeed uncomfortable, but equipment still functions properly as long as it is in good condition. When you get below -30F you really start having trouble.
