No I have a 98 Vailiant with a 5.7 Mercruiser, Alpha One. Saw another one this weekend on Grand Lake! He was heading out from Shangri La and I was heading in. Told him I had not see another one on the lake and he said that someone at Shangri La has another one. I guess we need a power floatilla of VIP Vailiants!

No kidding, I've never seen another VIP. May sound stupid but does your vision have a fuse panel. I have a 87 VIP that has the 2.3 w/ the cobra but the last owner said it came w/ a volvo. I am in the middle of re-wiring it and have come across some problems. There is no fues any where and I have a short somewhere. I'm also looking for a wiring diagram for this boat. If you have any info that would be great.
Thanks. John

Sorry,
I don't have any information on fuses on your model. I don't think I have any fuses on mine unless they are hidden under the dash board.

Re: Thought I was the Only One!!

Thanks for the reply. There are two fuses that sit right behind the motor(ford 2.3) they are inline form the battery.

Now 'm looking for an out-drive I really only need the lower part. I sheered the ring gear inside. If anyone has any info that would be great.

I have a 1986 VIP with a 140 hp Mercruiser inboard out board. It is 17 feet in length. My boat has a fuse block under the dash. I bought the boat at Plano Marine, Plano Texas brand new in 86. A good boat over-all.

stronga, I'm looking at buying the same boat. This one says kona on the side, does yours? I would love to see some pics. VIP said they do not have any record of building that boat. Any possible problem areas that I should look for?
Thanks in advance

Sorry to post in an old thread.
Just wanted to let machinist know there is a fuse block behind your dash. It's mounted to the side of the hull - up near the horn.

At least that's where mine is on my '98 Valiant.

Happy boating!

Hey have not been on for a while, thanks for the info on fuse block. I did find it last week while I was lubing up the seat slide.
